Detergent meant for adult clothing is harsher than that meant for baby clothing. Baby clothes are softer than adult clothing and regular laundry detergent can strip them of their softness. Using a gentler soap will help your baby’s clothes stay soft and it is easier to rinse off of the clothing which will help you avoid skin problems.
Acne isn’t only for teenagers, babies get it too. The hormones that the baby is surrounded by in the mother’s womb leads to the, after birth, development of acne. The hormones increase the baby’s oil production which can cause the baby’s pores to get clogged. Whatever you do, never apply any adult acne products to your baby’s skin! They are much too harsh and can burn your baby’s skin. Your best option is to either visit your doctor or letting it clear up on its own with regular cleaning.
There are plenty of ways to properly care for your baby’s skin. There is more to proper baby skin care than plain baths. Using the right detergent, sunscreen and even making sure that your baby’s skin gets enough fresh air are all important to proper skin care.
