Beauty Tips for Women: How to Choose the Right Dye for your Hair

Isn’t it true that when you want to change your look surprisingly and dramatically you change your hair? Coloring your hair always gives you a new look. Here’s my advice on how to choose the right dye for your hair.

So you decide to color your hair. You are positive about the change and well prepared to see your new look. First you have to decide on the dye you are going to use. I will leave the color choice up to you. I will just mention that there are permanent dyes and not-so-permanent ones and each type has its variations.

There’s also a third type of hair dyes. The vegetable dyes which are made out of natural ingredients and which are highly recommended. Vegetable dyes are similar to henna and belong to the not-so-permanent types of dyes.

Ok, you are ready to color your hair. Before you proceed you need to know what coloring method to choose depending on your hair style. Your new hair color must look good with your skin color/type. For example if your skin is light, you wont look good with very dark hair because you don’t want your hair to draw the color out of your skin.

If you decide to be blonde then never attempt to color your hair alone the first time. It’s better to take some advice from an expert/stylist or leave him/her do the job for you, especially if your hair has been permanently tinted.

If you decide you should have the sexy red hair, then you should know that red color really draws attention. It should be painless except if you are blonde in which case you should go at least two shades darker than your natural hair color in order to have a successful coloring result.

If you choose the good-old brown colors and wanna be a brunette then you should know that this is your safest choice. Brown colors will fit almost any skin/hair type. You can achieve all sorts of looks by using combinations of shades.

Last but not least. Black color. It will give you a dark/goth look. If you decide to color your hair black then you should know its the easiest color to apply to your hair. It will usually cover all hair types easily and effectively. Just make sure black colors look good with the rest of your face and will add to your skin, since black hair usually looks good on dark-skinned people only.

Hair Loss – 5 Natural Ways of Preventing Hair Loss

If you are one of those men who have a foreboding feeling that you would soon be bald (because your father or grandfather was bald), perhaps it would be helpful for you to know that there are ways to prevent possible hair loss. It really pays to do the necessary preventive measures now rather than wait for the baldness to begin.
Here are some of the most natural ways of preventing hair loss:1. Eat Foods That Are Rich In Sulfur
Sulfur is an element that is mainly found on nails and skin. This beauty mineral is able to promote hair growth because it improves the circulation of blood and it also has the capacity to decrease inflammation. Foods that are rich in sulfur are protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, eggs, nuts, legumes, vegetables (most especially onions). It has also been observed that sulfur creams greatly increase the chances of growing back lost hair.2. Try The So-Called Indian Head Massage
This treatment dates as far back as 4,000 years ago and Indians are still practicing it. This massage is done to combat poor blood circulation, hypertension, and even some serious illnesses. Men and women from India would regularly have this massage as part of their health and grooming regimen. The massage oil that is used contains either of these vegetable oils – almond, olive, coconut, or sesame. Most local Indian barbers give this type of massage to male clients after a hair cut to promote hair growth and general well-being.3. Eat Foods That Are Abundant In Vitamins And Minerals
The vitamins that are often associated with hair growth are: Vitamin A (has antioxidants to reduce oil in scalp); Vitamin C (also has antioxidants that keep hair and skin healthy); Vitamin E (enhances blood circulation on the scalp); Inositol (maintains healthy hair follicles); Biotin (helps in producing Keratin which is essential in preventing hair loss); Vitamin B3 (enhances circulation on scalp); Vitamin B5 (necessary in preventing hair loss and graying of hair); Vitamin B6 (aids in the creation of melanin which produces natural hair color and also prevents losing hair); and Vitamin B12 which makes skin and hair healthy.4. There Is Also A Chinese Beverage That Is Believed To Cure Hair Loss – The Detox Tea
Chinese people believe that when the kidneys are detoxified, having healthy hair would also follow. This may be true as kidneys aid in good blood circulation. It is advisable to drink a cup of this tea for at least 3 times each (for about 7-10 days). After the 10-day period, only a cup is necessary to maintain healthy kidneys (and hair!). The ingredients are the following and they need to be boiled in a non-aluminum aluminum pot:
- 1/2 tbsp. of burdock root
- 1/2 tbsp. dandelion root
- 1/2 tsp. licorice
- 1 1/2 cups purified water5. Aromatherapy Is Now More Than Just A Form Of Relaxation
It is believed that it can also stimulate well-being and hair growth. A hair oil solution has the following ingredients:
- 3 drops each of the essential oils of lavender, thyme, rosemary and cedarwood
- 1/8 cup of jojoba oil
- 1/8 cup of grapeseed oil
Constant use of this mixture resulted into 44% of hair growth among some individuals that submitted themselves for a certain hair loss study.
The following treatments and practices are all-natural and are found to have no side effects. ‘No need to wait for your hair to start falling – act on it now’.

Naturally curly hair do’s and don’ts

Products that should and should not be used on naturally curly hair.

If you have naturally curly hair, and you are trying to grow it, if you haven’t been very successful, chances are, you have been told you can’t use chemicals.  This is completely untrue.  Hair will grow with chemicals, the secret lies in the application,  chemicals must be applied to the new growth only.  We will discuss this in a later paragraph.

If you are going to wear your hair natural, there are things you should not do.

1:  You never brush natural hair:  Because  the hair has a curl and because of this curl the cuticle  is facing different directions, when the brush is pulled against the grain of the cuticle, it causes the cuticle to split, if this split goes from the ends to the scalp, you will have hair breakage.

2:  You must never oil your scalp:  When oil is applied to the scalp, It clogs the hair follicle, and eventuall leads to hair loss.  The oil you apply, plus the oil that is produced naturally, will clog the hair follicle, and a bacterial infection occurs.  The follicle will eventually drop the hair, resulting in a bald spot.

3:  Hair pressing is fine for natural hair, however, you must follow some rules, use a protective oil, and always use a comb heated on a stove.  Electric irons have a tendency to melt the cuticle.  If you are going to do it yourself, please know how to test the temperature of the comb, and the proper technique to use.

4:  Do follow a regular routine of conditioning your hair, don’t over process with conditioners, and don’t use leave-in conditioners.

Hair Relaxers

If you are going to wear a relaxer on your hair, you should have it done by a professional, but choose very carefully.  If you notice your hairdresser applying the product to the entire head, and you have always worn a relaxer, drop them, because this is one of the major causes of hair loss in people that wear relaxers.

Hair is made  of protein, and it is acid.  relaxers are alkaline, relaxers neutralize the protein in the hair.  If the relaxer is applied to the entire head each time, it will become dry and fly-away, and eventually break.  Neutralizing shampoo should not be used   for weekly shampoos, because the acid content is too high, and this will cause breakage also.

For more information on these important subjects, just leave your name and email address.  Please let me know your interest, and I will tailor my response.
