Human or Synthetic – What’s your Choice of Hair Wig?

Wigs93 Human or Synthetic – What’s your Choice of Hair Wig?

There are different shades of beauty in you. Varied hairstyles help reveal these different shades. Hair wig continues to be popular beauty accessory lending a stylish and elegant look to the individual adorning it. Hair wigs are also helpful for people suffering from hair loss consequent to a medical condition. There are numerous manufacturers today using advanced technology to create a variety of beautiful wigs of superior quality.

Wigs can be synthetic or made of human hair. Each of these types comes with its own advantages. While Synthetic Hair Wig is ideal for certain situations, there are others that demand the utility of a human hair wig. But at the end, it all depends on your individual requirements. While deciding on the type of hair wig is a personal choice, being well-informed about both can make decision-making easier.

To begin with, synthetic hair wigs are modish, affordable, and available in a variety of styles. They are best choices for occasional stylish wear. They are manufactured of synthetic materials and made to last long. These hair wigs demand less maintenance and are highly affordable. Use of synthetic materials gives these wigs a foreign nature contrary to the natural alternative; as such you don’t get the feel you get of natural hair when you touch synthetic wigs. The one major drawback with these wigs is that they cannot be styled, but they are ideal if you are looking for wash-and-wear type of hair wigs.

Human Hair Wigs, on the other hand, are made of real hair. These wigs give a natural look and feel.  They can be worn daily and are tolerant to different conditions just like natural hair. They are highly durable, and can be washed and molded to different styles. They come in a variety of natural colors and in different lengths. Major drawbacks come in the form of high price and maintenance.

In addition to physical hair wig boutiques, thanks to the Internet, there are now virtual online stores, which enable customers world-wide locate and purchase quality hair wigs within seconds. Your search on the Web for quality wigs need not be time-consuming. You can just logon to Gabis Wigs online for elegant, fashionable, stylish, no to say affordable, hair wigs.

Gabis Wig Boutique brings its experience of several decades to the Internet to offer custom hand-made and machine-made European-Style Wigs. Stress Induced Hair Loss: The Bald Truth

Stress is something almost all of us have to live with. It’s a fact of life, and while it can have it’s beneficient effects, like spurring us on to greater achievements and making us far more focused and intense at a task, taken to an extreme stress can be detrimental to a person, both psychologically and physiologically. One of more annoying effects of extreme stress is a scientific condition called Telogen Effluvium. In layman’s terms, this scary sounding name actually means that a person’s hair starts thinning due to stress.

Stress doesn’t directly contribute to one’s hair loss, however. Despite what most people may think, it’s actually a proven fact that the stress a person feels doesnt have a direct physical bearing on that person’s hair loss. Being stressed out doesn’t cause your hair to pop off your head faster; rather, when a person is under stress, he/she actually falls into certain personal habits that lead to hair loss. These personal habits ARE a direct effect of stress, and dealing with them will help to minimize stress-related hair loss. Here are a few of these habits, and a few precautions you can take to avoid them:

Poor Diet – When people are overstressed, they tend to neglect their eating habits. A person who has an unbalanced diet will eventually suffer from a lot of different physical ailments, and frankly hair loss would be the least of a person’s worries in this case. However, hair loss is a relatively mild warning sign that you should correct your diet and start eating right. To show how a poor diet affects a person’s hair, here is a little fact: normally a person WILL shed hair, roughly about 100 follicles a day, andthese are eventually replaced by the body naturally.

People who have an unbalanced diet will usually lose 200 to 300 hairs in a given day, more than the body can replenish immediately, and THIS causes hair loss. By getting a balanced diet rich in protein, with low fats and carbohydrate content, this type of hair loss can eventually be overcome, as the added nutrients will bring the rate at which you shed your hair to normal levels, and eventually your scalp will replenish your hair naturally.

Alchohol And Cigarettes – sad to say, as a result of stress some people turn to vices to cope with the stress. Alchohol and cigarettes are relaxants, and being readily available and legal, are sometimes overindulged in by people going through periods of high stress. While taken in moderate amounts, both of these vices already carry their own corresponding health risks. However, in times of stress even people who are merely casual social drinkers or smokers may suddenly increase their intake as a means of coping. During these times, the increased intake of alchohol or nicotine causes physical problems. You may have noticed that habitual chain-smokers, for example, have yellowed finger nails or yellow teeth.

Aside from these obvious effects, it’s been shown in studies that hair loss is also one fo the effects of over indulgence in booze or smokes. The remedy for this is obvious; quit smoking or drinking. However, even if you’re not ready or willing to give them up just yet, then at the very least cut back a bit, and avoid the habit of turning to the bottle or grabbing your lighter whenever you get stressed out.

Hair-Fiddling – funny as it seems, a lot of people still carry nervous habits with them throughout life that become more apparent in times of stress. Some of these can actually lead to hair loss. There are people who bite their nails, fiddle with their purse, twirl a ballpen… then there are the people who fiddle with their hair in one form or another. Some girls, for example, have the habit of chewing the ends of their hair when nervous, which leads to a lot of split ends. The nervous habits that most lead to hair loss are ones that involve more drastic versions of hair-nibbling, like actually pulling or twisting your own hair when annoyed, or scratching your head when stumped.

If you’re one of the people who indulges in these nervous habits, then the solution is pretty much to discipline yourself to stop yanking your hair out by the roots whenever your kids blow up the kitchen or your boss starts screaming at you for your deadlines. If you must have a nervous habit, find something relatively harmless – buy a stressball, it’ll even strengthen your grip.

Despite these sage little pieces of advice, however the fact remains that stress is still, ultimately, the cause of your hair falling out. The remedies given here are not permanent fixes, just patch jobs to stall the problem. If you really want to stop your own personal case of Telogen Effluvium (man, the name still sounds scary!), find a way to deal with your stress. Learn to laugh at your problems more, read a book, get more exercise, find a new hobby.

Above all, keeping healthy and having a positive, light, and happy outlook on the world keeps you from getting stressed out. Keep a smile on your face and in your heart, and you’ll be surprised how easy it can get dealing the universe in general.

Some Things You Must Understand About Hair Loss

Hair loss is as natural as the process of hair growth. It actually marks the completion of the hair growth cycle. It is present across gender and age and majority of us don’t get bothered by hair loss until we experience it ourselves. However, abnormal rate of hair loss is a bit alarming. So why does this happen? Understanding its nature is crucial in undertaking steps to prevent the onset and aggravation of the condition. Here are some basic things about hair loss that could help you better understand the process.

What qualifies as hair loss?

10% of hair undergoes a resting period at any given time. During this period, hair growth ceases. After sometime, usually around 2 to 3 months, the hair falls off. Any deviation from this normal rate is considered excessive hair loss. This is marked by constant falling of hair.

What role does nutrition play on hair growth and hair loss?

General lack of nutrition in the body will most definitely decrease the nutrition supplied to the hair follicles in the scalp. When this happens, the hair becomes frail, unhealthy and more often than not, it dies.  Needless to say, nutrients are vital in the sustenance of each hair strand, not only in their capacity to become healthy but also to remain attached to the scalp.

Does stress contribute to hair loss?

Definitely stress can be in the form of pregnancy, of sickness or just about anything that could produce stressful response like intermittent noise. Stress could trigger hormonal imbalances in the body which could, in effect, acutely alter the chemical balance of the scalp. Under abnormal chemical states, the scalp may shed some of its hairs due to the weakening of the hair follicles. But it is good to note that stress-related hair loss occurs only during severe levels of stress.Likewise, pressure put against the hair may lead to hair loss especially hairstyles that require pulling the hair such as braiding and banding.

Does styling hurt my hair?

Of course Perming, straightening, relaxing and rebonding are hair styling treatments that make use of strong chemicals. In most cases, the chemicals used can cause hair breakage and permanent damage. As much as possible refrain from using strong chemicals on the hair. Also, abstain from regular blow-drying and curling as these methods of hairstyling use heat which could cause hair damage.

My dad is balding, does that mean hair loss for me?

Yes and no. Some people are genetically pre-disposed towards baldness at a certain age. You may inherit this condition from both parents but it is also possible that will not. But if either of your parents are balding, chances are you’ll get bald too so it is best to take steps early on.

This can be done by simple preventive measures such as giving more attention to your hair, refraining from use of chemicals and products that could possibly cause hair damage and maintaining proper diet. If you could prevent any unnecessary hair fall now, it is likely that you could delay further hair loss because remember, when the hair falls it would be replaced by a new hair but this time the replacement is much thinner and weaker.

Reversing Hair Loss – The Proven Hair Re-Growing Agents

Reversing hair loss is a feat that most men would want to achieve. Unfortunately, very few are able to get back lost hair once the hair fall becomes massive. Reversing hair loss is definitely not easy but it’s not impossible either.
Before using any particular herb or product, it is best for the patient to consult his physician. His doctor is the best person to educate him regarding the condition. And a physician is also the best person to discuss the treatments that might suit the patient’s condition. Just in case a strict budget would not allow a hair transplant, it is often always best to resort to natural and proven means of getting a full head of hair. The Proven Hair Regrowers
Saw Palmetto – this natural remedy has been proven to stop hair fall. It blocks the formation of DHT and prevents this hormone from binding with the hair follicles. It is recommended that 1500 mg of this herb be taken daily. Patients are also advised to refrain from using shampoos that have SLS or Sodium Laureth Sulfate in them. SLS degreases the hair but it also clogs the follicles. Once the hair follicles get clogged, hair fall would soon follow. Discard all shampoos with SLS in them and hair growth would soon be noticeable – many patients have reported an improvement on their hair and scalp after ditching their old shampoos.
Eat foods that are rich in minerals like zinc, iron, or magnesium. These minerals are proven to be beneficial in restoring hair.
Buy a lotion that would condition the scalp. There are hair loss lotions and creams in the market that contain herbs which are proven to be effective in preventing hair loss. Herbs such as rosemary, lavender, aloe vera and coconut milk all have hair re-growing properties.
Blood circulation needs to be improved to be able to stop hair loss. Starved hair follicles tend to weaken and fall and to reverse this, it is best to purchase natural remedies which have no side effects. Ginkgo Biloba, Capsicum (in peppers), and prickly ash all improve circulation of the blood. Before getting into a regimen, it is wise for a patient to consult with a physician especially when he has existing medications for hypertension.
Olive and virgin coconut oils are proven hair growers, too. It just takes religious, daily applications to make the hair grow back.Other Methods
Sometimes, laziness tends to consume most hair loss patients that they give up as soon as a month of applying or taking any medicine. Once they don’t see any fast results, these patients just shrug their shoulders and give up. Simple methods such as massaging one’s scalp for 15 minutes each day would greatly improve the blood circulation on that area. The massage would be further enhanced with the use of the aforementioned oils (olive and virgin coconut oils).
Stressful living could result into many ill conditions on the human body. Eliminating stress in one’s life would also improve the systems of the body. Let go and let live-relax and take the regimen you have chosen one day at a time; and before you know it, there would be baby hairs on your scalp!

UNWANTED HAIRS & LASER HAIR REMOVAL

UNWANTED HAIRS & LASER HAIR REMOVAL

INTRODUCTION
The main indication of laser hair removal is hirsutism i.e, presence of hairs in a male pattern distribution in a female. This article covers the main causes of hirsutism, various methods of hair removal and basic knowledge a patient should know before starting laser hair removal treatments.

HIRSUTISMHirsutism is defined as presence of dark coarse hair in a male pattern distribution in a female. The most common site affected is face mainly over upper lips and chin, other sites include chest( sternum, breasts), back, abdomen( linea alba and upper pubic triangle).CAUSES OF HIRSUTISM
The causes of hirsutism are many and varied, including:
•  Heredity
•  Pregnancy
•  Hormonal imbalances (PCOS, adrenal or ovarian tumours, cushing’s syndrome,
thyroid disorders )
•  Insulin resistance states (eg. obesity)
•  Reactions to certain medications (eg. steroids)
•  Normal aging processes
•  Idiopathic.
Doctor should explore a possible underlying reason of the extreme hair growth before starting laser because if there is something in the body consistently triggering hair growth, laser treatments might seem ineffective because the body will keep developing new hair. So, it will always seem like there is not reduction, when in fact it’s NEW hair your body is producing that you are seeing, not that treated by laser growing back. Women with PCOS hair growth patterns (upper lip, chin, cheeks, etc) should see an endocrinologist and have hormonal tests taken. Men can get tested for insulin resistance etc. Laser can affect the hair that’s currently present, but cannot prevent NEW hair from developing. VARIOUS METHODS OF HAIR REMOVAL & THEIR SIDE EFFECTSHair removal methods can be broadly classified into two types: A. Depilatory methods i.e removal of hair from the skin surface like hair removal creams and shaving.
B.  Epilatory methods like plucking, waxing, electrolysis and lasers.
Skin irritation and redness are the most common side effects of hair removal. Shaving can cause skin cuts and may lead to ingrown hairs. Plucking can hurt, especially if a lot of hairs are removed. Using hot wax can burn your skin. Chemicals that dissolve hair often smell bad and can cause allergic skin reactions.
Regrowth of hairs is very rapid with these methods & in due course of time the growth may become thicker.
Electrolysis hurts and in some people can cause thick scars (called keloids). It may also change the color of the skin around where the hair was removed.
Laser hair removal can also cause burns and color changes in the skin. But side effects are minimal if done in the best hands by an expert dermatologist.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Laser hair removal (LHR) is a procedure by which hair is removed from the body by utilizing a long pulse laser. Actually, the right term would be Laser hair reduction rather than Laser hair removal since hundred percent clearance of hairs can’t be achieved. The laser parameters are carefully defined by studying the anatomy of the hair follicle. LHR should be performed by a specially-trained dermatologist. MECHANISM OF ACTION
Lasers are optical devices which produce single color beams of light. Laser light energy creates heat as it passes through the skin and targets darker colored pigment, melanin, found in the follicle and hair. By heating up the hair follicle during its active phase (anagen), the laser disables the follicle’s ability to produce hair without affecting surrounding tissue.
Lasers designed for long term hair reduction emit wavelengths of light that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair (melanin). If the surrounding skin is relatively light compared to the color of the hair, then the entire energy of the laser will be concentrated in the hair shaft, effectively destroying it without affecting the skin or follicle. Hair removal lasers target the dark pigment in the hair. That’s why laser hair removal works best on light skin (so laser passes right through) and dark coarse hair (has most pigment). Lasers don’t work on white, brown and very thin black hair. NUMBER AND SPACING OF TREATMENTS
Most people need at least 6-8 initial treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart. This is because hair grows in 3 phases and is killed only in the first “anagen” active growing phase. Several treatments are needed to target ALL hair in the active growth phase. Approximately 4-8 weeks after every treatment, additional treatment is required to eliminate the hairs that came out of the dormant phase and are now active. After 6-8 treatments or so, patients should experience a considerable percentage of hair reduction. Depending upon hair type, genetic and hormonal factors, some cases may require additional treatments beyond these initial treatments. PREPARATION BEFORE TREATMENT
Sunlight should be avoided by proper use of a sunscreen in the weeks prior to a hair laser removal session, since tanned skin will inhibit effectiveness. If you are taking any medication, tell your doctor. The area in which LHR is to be done should be shaved ideally 1-2 days prior to treatment. No waxing or removing hair with the root with any other way is allowed 3 weeks before and throughout the course of treatment as hair needs to be in place to be targeted by laser. LASERS USED
Long pulse Nd.Yag Laser long pulse, Diode laser and IPL (Intense pulse light).SUMMARY OF ARTICLEUnwanted hairs on the face is a very common problem in girls these days. In most of the cases it is associated with a specific cause most common being some hormonal imbalances. People keep on trying different methods of hair removal without treating the cause. There are a lot of myths regarding laser hair removal & this article has been written to dispel these.

Reasons for Hair Loss During Pregnancy

Hair loss is an obvious side effect of chemotherapy. Before starting a course of chemotherapy, it is a good idea to decide how you will cope with hair loss and explore your options fully before deciding what would work best for you. There are many factors to take into account when choosing how best to cope with hair loss caused by chemotherapy. Your decision will vary according to whether you are a man, woman, or child going through cancer and chemotherapy.

Hair grows, then rests, then falls out. Each hair follicle on your scalp produces a number of hairs throughout your life. Hair grows from the follicle at the rate of about 1cm a month for about three years. After that time that hair will die and no longer grow and simply sit dormant in the follicle for a further three months. After that three month interval the next hair starts to grow out of the follicle and, as it grows, it pushes the original one out. This is a cycle that continues throughout life.

There are various nutrients needed in the body that can cause an individual to either improve their rate of hair growth or lose their hair. The minerals -zinc and iron- have been linked to hair growth and loss. If a woman stops taking these tablets, she is predisposing herself to being bald. Once a woman is pregnant, she needs to have a diet full of vegetables and fruits as they have antioxidants capable of promoting increased hair growth.

During pregnancy, the female body produces high levels of Estrogen to help the growth and health of your baby and of you! This increased level of Estrogen causes more hair growth by sending signals to the follicles. This also speeds up your metabolism, sending more nutrients everywhere in your body, including your scalp.

Hair loss during pregnancy is a very normal phenomenon. Don’t fret over it. This is a temporarily phase so you really don’t need to worry about it. Once the baby is delivered, your hair will grow back in no time. Hair loss during pregnancy period is very natural. In many women the hair loss is low however some may experience a significant hair fall. Hormonal changes in your body are the major reason for hair loss during pregnancy. The intensity varies with every woman.

Hormone changes also affect the overall structure of the hair. So if you previously had curly hair, you might find that it has gone straight, or vice-versa. Again, this is all part of the hormone imbalance and after time you should see things gradually get back to normal.

Oil Massages

Regular oil massage helps the scalp to remain conditioned. You can try various relaxing oils for your head massage. There are some essential oils which can be used during pregnancy. After the massage give your hair a luxurious steam with a warm towel and relax. This would surely help reduce the hair loss after pregnancy.
